Christelle was a lovely host and very accommodating. The property was lovely with lots of well kept yard to enjoy and let our one year old rome around in. Though the place is attached to Christelle’s home, there is complete privacy and disturbance. The house was large and comfortable with a well equipped kitchen. Chagny is easy walking distance with multiple shops for food shopping and cafes. We loved out stay and would definitely visit again.
We spent 5 nights at this lovely cottage in Chagny. Jose and Christelle were warm and inviting hosts. Their home and the cottage are situated behind a gate, which is kept closed most of the time. In fact, we rarely locked the door when we left for the day. One unexpected plus was that the accommodations are situated within a short walk of the vois verte, which is a beautiful walking/biking path that runs along a canal. We were provided with a lot of information on sights to see nearby and things to do. Beaune is just a short drive from Chagny, as are many of the vineyards. We are hoping to return to Burgundy in a couple of years to do more exploring and we will definitely stay at villa roland again. We highly recommend it.
We spent 6 nights in Villa Roland and found it was everything as advertised. To call it a villa is an understatement- it is a complete house of 2 double bedrooms, large bathroom with separate toilet, a spacious lounge dining area and a modern fully equipped kitchen. There is also a sunroom, a covered outdoor barbecue area and carport. There are outdoor settings to enjoy the spacious grounds. It is very conveniently situated. The village with specialty shops and a large supermarket is within easy walking distance as is the train station. The picturesque Burgundy canal is easily accessed from the villa and on Sunday the village hosts a fantastic market. Chagny itself, is well placed for any discovery of Burgundy. It is on the main train line from Lyon to Dijon and the wine centre of Baunme is only 10 minutes away. Jose and Chistelle were easy to contact and prompt in their replies in organising our arrival and check in. We were certainly made to feel that the villa was our home. We will be telling all and sundry that this is the only place to stay if you want to visit Burgundy.
